This is a shot of Noah's game Gran Turismo 5 which he had for Christmas. On Saturday he treated himself to a new steering and pedals with his pocket money. Garden visitors...

Mrs Mousie's End of the Year Waffle 2011

I didn't want to look back as I do too much of that already. But as so many of my twitter chums have been tweeting about their blogging year I thought I would have a little peek at what have been my more 'successful' or dare I say it more 'popular' posts of 2011. Two things stood out from my little peek, firstly I didn't regain my blogging mojo until half way through the year, so I didn't have too much to go on, (boo!) and secondly I got my most views and comments on my waffle posts (yay!). Waffle is good as I'm a pretty good waffler, it's up there with the rest of my skills such as eating cake and dreaming.

So here are my top 5 posts of the last well erm 5 months of 2011...

5) The beauty of Tweeting and blogging is that if you're really stuck and really need advice there are usually plenty of folk out there to help and this random post really proves that!

4) This was the first post I wrote after nearly a year away from blogging, too much going on in my tiny head after the accident to think straight and also because I think I had too much to tell you all that it hurt and I became afraid. Eventually though I decided that things are always better out than in anyway and I think you did too.

3) Sometimes I let my imagination get a little too carried away with itself. Sometimes it's a good thing and sometimes I feel everyone is looking at me saying 'What?' Actually the latter happens quite a lot. Still if you can't be silly what can you be?

2) A very grateful post. A post to say thank you to all of those who kept me going during those dark days, some of whom I've never met. A heartfelt thank you to those virtual strangers of Twitter who give their time and listening ears so readily.

1) Finally this is my favourite post. Every word is meant. I think it is a post I will return to from time to time. A reminder of all that I am privileged to have. A reminder of why I'm here.

So there you have it, more waffle from a self confessed waffler. All that remains is for me to wish you all a happy, healthy and wonderful new year!

Music...

Music... such a personal thing. This is my old car radio in my old car - funnily enough. It's a bit dusty - but well loved. It only plays Radio Nottingham and Radio 2 which is fine because they're the only stations I love. My kids think I've rigged it to play two stations only, but I haven't - honest! They prefer Radio 1, whereas I love local radio, I love to know what's happening where I live. The BBC wants to make drastic cuts to local radio stations - this might mean that local radio becomes - well... not that local anymore and you wouldn't want that to happen. Your local radio station is like a friend. I work on my own sewing away day after day and what keeps me vaguely sane is listening to Radio Nottingham. I sing along to the songs, I shout at it, I talk to it and sometimes I cry too. I really wouldn't want to be without it.

I have been honoured to be part of a wonderful exhibition at ze Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, so I gathered a few loyal members of my troupe and off we went...

Ze outside looks very impressive... but I expected nothing less for such a prestigious cirque...

This is my new display bookcase for craft fairs and some of my creations are currently trying it out for size. I asked them if they liked it and was met with a resounding 'YES!'. Mr Mousie said it's the best £13 I've ever spent - well I'm not too sure about that although it is pretty cool. I didn't put it together myself as that is totally outside of my area of expertise, nope that was Mr Mousie - he's a clever mousie.

Splendid news! I had a call from the very lovely Gail at The Craft Shop at The Royal Exchange Theatre this afternoon to tell me that Monsieur Alphonse has been sold already! He will remain on show until Friday when he's being collected. So we'll be delivering another when we visit on Sunday. Gail says they've put big tops on the display cases and it all looks amazing, so I really can't wait to go now.

Music...

Noah is doing really well with his keyboard lessons. This is one of our favourite songs out of his book, we have such a laugh singing it together. Especially as we both can't sing very well and only really sound any good when we sing very LOUDLY!
